The Panda is unlocked by purchasing DLC.
The panda, or giant panda, is of the genus Ailuropoda. Though it belongs to the order Carnivora, the panda's diet is 99% bamboo. The panda is a conservation reliant endangered species. A 2007 report shows 239 pandas living in captivity inside China and another 27 outside the country. Pandas in the wild will occasionally eat other grasses, wild tubers, or even meat in the form of birds, rodents or carrion. In captivity, they may receive honey, eggs, fish, yams, shrub leaves, oranges, or bananas along with specially prepared food. Though the panda is often assumed to be docile, it has been known to attack humans, presumably out of irritation rather than aggression.
Life as a Panda
The Panda is a DLC Pack #2 Size 4 Grazer available for purchase and is the only non-special Size 4 Grazer available in the game. It has a high average Speed, but its bulky movements can make it appear slower. Although a Grazer, the Panda is well built for combat, with reasonable base Attack and Defense. Its slow attacks are most similar to those of the Bear, and although weaker, it is still designed to help break through an opponent's Defense.

Pandas as Prey
The panda should not be underestimated just because it is a grazer. It is still a bear. While it may not be as hard hitting, nor hit taking as its carnivorous cousins, it's still a fair challenge to the smaller predator. It is recommended to try and sneak up on it with a smaller carnivore and try to deliver a critical bite, and to have a pack to back you up. Larger carnivores will have an easier time, and the panda is more likely to flee. As a whole though, the Panda should not be expected to be a common sight. They rarely spawn. The most you will see is how many animals can be fit into the territory when the event 'Rare Animals are Fighting in X' event occurs. The pandas will be seen battling kangaroos, and will become hostile upon spotting you, or the 'Panda has come to X' event, whereas the territory will just be filled with pandas. Should a panda choose to fight back it has the AI charge attack.
